SUMMARY:2023 SEAMEO-Japan Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Award\, with the theme “Promoting Environmental Education through Utilising Renewable Energy.”
DESCRIPTION:The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) and the Ministry of Education\, Culture\, Sports\, Science and Technology\, Japan (MEXT) in cooperation with UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office in Bangkok are pleased to announce the 2023 SEAMEO-Japan Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Award\, with the theme “Promoting Environmental Education through Utilising Renewable Energy.” \nThe objectives of the 2023 SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award are: \n\nto increase public awareness and acquire knowledge\, skills\, values\, experiences\, and also the determination to solve present and future environmental problems;\nto encourage schools and communities in Southeast Asia and Japan to use renewable energy to reduce the impact of climate change and create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future; and\nto promote and share initiatives and good practices that integrate environmental education and the use of renewable energy into teaching and learning practices and school’s programmes.\n\nAll public and private kindergarten/elementary/secondary/vocational and technical (up to Grade 12) schools in 11 SEAMEO Member Countries are invited to apply by completing the submission form which can be downloaded from the SEAMEO website: https://link.seameo.org/2023SEAMEOJapanESDAward \nDetails of the award and submission guidelines are also contained in the aforementioned link.  A completed submission form and its supporting documents can be uploaded to the following Google form on or before 15 August 2023. \nhttps://link.seameo.org/2023SEAMEOJapanESDAward/submission \nIt would be highly appreciated if the web banner/poster of the 2023 SEAMEO-Japan ESD award could be posted on your good office’s website and social media such as Facebook\, Twitter and others.  The web banner could be linked to the following URL: https://link.seameo.org/2023SEAMEOJapanESDAward \nFor more information\, please contact Ms Pitchayawadi Arreenich\, Coordinator\, SEAMEO Secretariat\, through email at: secretariat@seameo.org; seameojapan.award@seameo.org (cc: pitchayawadi@seameo.org).
