Laboratory Services

The SEAMEO RECFON laboratory is a regional facility based at Universitas Indonesia that provides comprehensive, standardized services to support nutrition research, program evaluation, and policy development. The laboratory is committed to delivering high-quality data and analysis that are aligned with ISO/IEC 17025:2017, enhancing the reliability and credibility of its outputs. Laboratory services are categorized into two main areas:

• Nutrition Services

Assessment of nutritional status based on the ABCD framework—Anthropometry, Biochemical, Clinical, and Dietary—conducted across community, school, and workplace settings. The laboratory supports a wide range of biochemical analyses, including validated multiplex assays for key micronutrient and inflammation biomarkers.

• Molecular Services

Biological sample processing for epigenetics and microbiome studies, as well as genotyping and gene expression analysis.

These services lay the foundation for cutting-edge research in precision nutrition and contribute to capacity building, collaborative partnerships, and the development of sustainable, evidence-informed policies.
