On 27 June 2023, SEAMEO RECFON held the opening of Online Training on Nutrition Care Process in Community (OT NCP). OT NCP has been conducted in 2019 and 2020 followed by more than 3.000 community nutritionist in the public health center from 34 provinces in Indonesia. In 2023 this year, OT NCP welcomed the 480 selected participants from 801 applicants all over Indonesia.

Dr. Zainun Misbah, Acting Director of SEAMEO RECFON, opened the synchronous session and stated that this training is important to address the challenges and issues on nutrition in the community. Therefore, this training is essential for the community nutritionist particularly in developing the plan of action, program implementation, as well as program evaluation.

This training also has been endorsed with the remarks from Anna Kurniati, SKM, MA, PhD, Acting Director of Quality Improvement of Health Professionals and Acting Director of of Nutrition and Maternal and Child Health, Ministry of Health (MoH) of Indonesia. In her speech, she highlighted three main challenges in managing the human resources for health in Indonesia especially on the quantity, distribution, and limited training. Dr. Anna was also really appreaciate SEAMEO RECFON for conducting OT NCP since it aligned with the roadmap of health professionals training method development through online learning.

The opening session was continued with the online synchronous session with the resource person from the representative of Directorate of Nutrition and Maternal and Child Health, MoH of Indonesia who delivered the topic about The Current Nutrition Situation and Policy in Indonesia.

OT NCP will be run until August 2023 to discuss the modules based on the curriculum which has been standardized by the Training Center for Human Resources for Health, MoH of Indonesia. OT MCN is conducted via MOOC platform (self-paced) that consists of  synchronous sessions with the experts, course assignments, and tutorial/assistance from the fasilitator.
