5-7 August 2025

SEAMEO RECFON, in collaboration with Health Polytechnic of Malang, conducted a series of advocacy and monitoring activities for the Nutrition Goes to School (NGTS) Program on 5–7 August 2025 in Malang Regency, East Java. The initiative aimed to prepare partner schools for the institutionalization phase, during which the program will be managed independently with support from the local education office.

The joint visit included advocacy meetings with the Malang Regency Education Office as well as monitoring and evaluation visits to partner schools, namely SMKN 1 Singosari and SMAS Diponegoro Tumpang. The agenda covered monitoring program progress in schools, documenting best practices, identifying challenges and support needs, and giving recognition for school achievements.

The advocacy meeting with the Malang Regency Education Office served as an important opportunity to discuss NGTS implementation and forms of recognition for partner schools.

SEAMEO RECFON emphasized that the advocacy and monitoring visits conducted with the Health Polytechnic of Malang were a strategic step to ensure program sustainability while strengthening the commitment of all parties to improving students’ health and academic performance through better nutrition.
