Jakarta, 13 December 2025

SEAMEO RECFON successfully delivered a Nutrition and Health Education Campaign for Families and Communities on 13 December 2025, at Skyworld Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta.

This activity used interactive methods such as educational activities, including an “Amazing Race” and group discussions, that aimed to foster a deep understanding of balanced nutrition and healthy lifestyles among participants. Through these steps, facilitators delivered key messages on balanced nutrition and healthy behaviors through two-way interactions with more than 120 participants, including housewives, students, youth representatives, and community members.

Furthermore, the session featured two presentations delivered by SEAMEO RECFON representatives. Dwi Yanti, M. Biomed, presented the results of the Medical Check Up (MCU), underscoring the importance of routine health examinations, including indicators of obesity, hypertension, elevated blood sugar levels, micronutrient status, and non-communicable diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.

The session continued with a presentation by Helda Khusun, Ph.D., who elaborated on comprehensive nutrition education based on the “CERDIK” framework—an Indonesian health promotion approach that promotes regular health check-ups; avoidance of exposure to tobacco smoke, narcotics, psychotropic substances, and alcohol; regular physical activity; balanced dietary practices; adequate rest; and effective stress management.

SEAMEO RECFON intends for this activity to encourage the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle as a form of long-term self-investment. This education is expected to be more than just a socialization session; participants should be able to apply the principles of balanced nutrition in their daily lives to create quality human resources through proper nutritional intake.
