SEAMEO RECFON participated in the visit of the President of the SEAMEO Council (SEAMEC), H.E. Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Minister of Education of Brunei Darussalam, to Indonesia on 5 December 2025.
In her capacity as President of the SEAMEO Council, H.E. Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah held meetings with the Boards of Directors of the Centres in Indonesia, including RECFON, SEAQIL, BIOTROP, and SEAMOLEC. Hosted by SEAQIL in Jakarta, the visit agenda facilitated inter-centre dialogue and coordination in support of regional priorities, during which the participating centres presented their respective flagship programmes.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the SEAMEO Council President and her delegation to review firsthand the contributions and tangible impacts of SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia in support of the SEAMEO Priority Areas 2021–2030. The event was attended by 81 participants, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Brunei Darussalam, the Deputy Director (Administration and Communication) of the SEAMEO Secretariat, the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, as well as representatives of SEAMEO Centres and partner institutions.
Complementing the visit agenda, SEAQIL organised an exhibition showcasing the collective contributions of four SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia (SCI) based in Jakarta, in collaboration with the BGTK of DKI Jakarta Province. Within the exhibition, SEAMEO RECFON provided health screening services, including nutritional status assessments, blood glucose testing, and cholesterol screening, complemented by nutrition and health recommendations based on individual results, highlighting its commitment to integrating food and nutrition approaches into regional education and health agendas.
