Siloam Hospitals Training Center (STC) collaborated with SEAMEO RECFON to carry out Online Training on Food Safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Batch 3 via Zoom Meeting on 3-7 June 2024. It was attended by 25 nutritionists from various hospitals internal and external Siloam Hospital.

Director of SEAMEO RECFON, Dr. Herqutanto, said that this training curriculum has been accredited by the Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia.

“To support this training, we have prepared a food safety and HACCP training curriculum in 2021 for both distance (online) and classical (offline) trainings, that has been registered in the Training Accreditation Information System/Sistem Informasi Akreditasi Pelatihan (SIAKPEL) the Ministry of Health.” said Dr. Herqutanto.

 

This training also invited resource persons from the Directorate of Environmental Health, Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia, Adhi Sambodo, ST, MKM, who presented the material on “National Policy on Food Safety in Indonesia”. The participants were able to understand that there are still many traders who do not understand hygienic sanitation standards and use inedible additives. Then they also understand about national regulations on Certificates for Good Hygiene and Sanitation/Sertifikasi Laik Hygiene Sanitasi (SLHS) at the hospital in particular.

There was also Halim Kusnadi, S.Gz, RD from Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, delivering material on “National Standardization System (SSN)”. He emphasized that apart from understanding food safety, we also need to grasp the standards used as references by considering health, environmental and the current development to get as many benefits as possible.

These Online Training on Food Safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) for five days received great feedback from the participants because all of them were actively answering and asking questions throughout the training. The four participants received appreciation as the Best Participant and Most Active Participant awards. All participants successfully passed the training with an average post-test score after training of 91.6. This training was highly beneficial for the participants and coincided with the commemoration of World Food Safety Day on June 7 2024.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ns. Martinus Hartono, M.Kep, Siloam Training Center’s Partnership & Accreditation Specialist, added his hope that participants consisting of employees working in the fields of nutrition, environmental health, and health promotion throughout Indonesia can fulfill their knowledge needs regarding food safety and health. STC facilitates participants to use the Ministry of Health’s Learning Management System (LMS) to access material during training. Apart from that, participants need to take a pre-test and post-test as an evaluation for them after completing the training.

During the five-day training, participants received several materials on food safety delivered by resource persons experienced in this matter. Some of the materials obtained by the participants including Food Safety Policy in Indonesia, Risks of Food Safety Hazards in Food Management Places, Measures to Control Food Safety Hazards, Development of HACCP Principle 1, Building Learning Commitment (BLC), Action Plans, Anti-Corruption, and Food Handling during Emergency Situation. Apart from that, participants were also given individual and group assignments, and practical sessions on preparing HACCP. The material and assignments were mainly delivered by resource persons from SEAMEO RECFON including Dr. Dwi Nastiti Iswarawanti, Evi Ermayani, M.Gizi, and Retty Putri Utami D. M.Sc.
