SEAMEO RECFON welcomed Ms. Mahsa Faraji as the first volunteer for its Special Initiative on Learning through Voluntary Engagements for Nutrition Goes to School Program (LOVE for NGTS). Ms Mahsa Faraji will be on voluntary engagements with the Centre from 1 April 2022 to 31 August 2022.
A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Universitas Indonesia, Ms. Mahsa Faraji hails from Iran but has been living in Jakarta, Indonesia since 2011. She speaks and understands Bahasa Indonesian language well. She also speaks English, Persian, Turkish, Arabic and Italian languages.
Ms Mahsa Faraji’s voluntary engagements with SEAMEO RECFON will consist of assisting in finalizing the NGTS Best Practices book by compiling the lessons learned by partner schools as a book chapter, documenting the preparation and implementation of the online NGTS training course for Cambodian technical and vocational school teachers, tracking the progress of the action plans of NGTS partner-schools in Jakarta, writing feature articles/infographics related to NGTS for the third issue of RECFON’s AWESOME magazine, and assisting in the research project of one of RECFON’s research grantees on expanding the application of the NGTS Monitoring Information System in all partner-schools in Indonesia. These voluntary engagements are contained in her agreement form with the Centre.
The LOVE for NGTS Program is among the special initiatives of SEAMEO RECFON under its Third Five-Year Development Plan that started in July 2021. It aims to optimize the civic-mindedness and potentials of young professionals and graduate students to contribute in addressing food and nutrition issues and concerns, particularly among school-aged children in Southeast Asia. Upon completion of their voluntary engagements with the Centre, volunteers will receive a certificate.
