Since 2016, SEAMEO RECFON has instituted a once-a-week regular aerobic session every Friday morning to enable the staff members to stay healthy.  The Centre believes that engaging the staff in physical activity would also encourage them to practice balanced nutrition habits to supply the vitamins and minerals that their bodies need due to the activity. In 2018, another aerobic session was added every Tuesday afternoon.  These regular sessions have become a way of life among the staff such that even the COVID-19 pandemic, which came in 2020, did not stop the Centre from continuing conducting them. Through zoom platform, staff continued experiencing the benefits of exercising from their respective homes during the scheduled aerobic sessions.

The aerobic session generally consists of stretching, warming up, core movements, and cooling down exercises within approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Staff members are instructed to take their blood pressure measurements before and after exercise. Aside from the ITR-certified low impact exercise usually led by an appointed instruction, the aerobic sessions also require all Centre units to take turns to lead one exercise every week to make the session more fun.  The aerobic sessions are also participated in from time to time by intern students, post-graduate training students, and guest lecturers.
