All undergraduates involved in biomedical and medical research are encouraged to apply. Those not yet involved in research will discover that attending the Conference is a great way to learn about the broad range of opportunities available. The Conference includes projects from all disciplines and encourages interdisciplinary discourse, allowing students to learn from each other about a broad range of exciting research topics.

Students can include their presentations on resumes and graduate school applications.

In conjunction with 30th Anniversary of IMU, exciting and challenging activities are lining up for all our undergraduate students. An interactive Health AI series of Research Hackathon “Hack 4 Diabetes” is back here to target on “The Digital innovations for the management of diabetes”. The aim of this Hackathon  “Hack 4 Diabetes” is for you to bring different skillsets and experiences to understand the disease pathology, progression, prevention and health promotion innovatively, to  utilise collaborative approach in solving challenging problems and to co-create a novel solution for the management of type 2 diabetes.

Hack 4 Diabetes” Research Hackathon is a month-long event consisting of engaging workshop, meet the expert sessions and a final presentation (on 9 November 2022 during the conference).  The life science and computer science undergraduate students will be collaborating in a team of 4 to present an innovative and efficient solution for the personalised diabetes management. Computer science students will learn how to interpret and utilise medical data and graphs for building better models to meet current needs in healthcare industries, while health science students will learn the possible ways of applying artificial intelligence and/or machine learning models for a systematic analysis and management of health data. The winning team will be supported with a seed fund of RM 50,000 for the conduct of the proposed idea. Certificates will be provided for all participants. Besides that, you stand a chance to win cash prizes up to RM 1200.
