The SEAMEO Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO INNOTECH) will be conducting the above-mentioned half-day webinar on cybersafety and digital citizenship on 28 May 2021. The online learning event underlines the importance of cybersafety and digital citizenship among young people in the current pandemic situation. Sessions will tackle the basics of what digital citizenship is and how schools can further protect and guide their learners as they spend more time online.
Specifically, the one-day forum intends to:
- Raise awareness and interest on the importance of cybersafety and digital citizenship in schools to ensure a safe online learning environment;
- Gather ideas on how the youth could take part in the adoption of a digital citizenship strategy in the new education setup; and
- Identify means of collaborating and continuing the learning exchange beyond the webinar.
The learning event is part of a series of knowledge fora on key issues in education across the region. With the prevalent use of online and digital technologies in education, schools should be encouraged to cultivate empowered digital citizens while ensuring a safe learning environment. Teachers and students from high schools, universities and colleges in the Philippines are expected to attend the event through live broadcasts on Facebook and YouTube.
We wish to invite you to join the event through the live broadcasts on 28 May 2021, starting at 9 AM (GMT+8) through our Facebook Page (https://web.facebook.com/SEAMEOINNOTECH) and our YouTube Channel (https://youtube.com/SeameoInnotechVideos).
